First Devlog of Pinecones
Well, this week has been fun to make. First and foremost, I did not expect to sit at a project for this long, let alon see it growing more and more to fruition. For how simple a game it sounded to be, It sure has a few punches. Mainly codewise, because the experience I have with code was only reading and restarting scripts until now.
I finally got in touch with the GODOT Discord and its been a delight talking to fellow beginners like myself and experienced people in their fields. To the community, thank you for welcoming me.
Over time, the game has become more and more detailed and every iteration I have made had some new things in storage. I tried to tackle each problem I have set for myself one after another. For issues that I didn't really know what to do or what way I had to go, it was eitehr google, or if I needed a better idea to do something, the godot discord.
Looking at this version and the current version is kinda jarring. How polygonal and rough everything looked... well it didn't really improve, but it's visible progress. how it was only a walking sim to a thing where you can actually throw cones now.
In the terms of terms, obviously I'm not thinking of monetizing this. This is a learning project and I want to document the whole week seperately to myself with tidbits of information for maybe the future. It is no game, it is a very lame experiment, like pulling apart a snickers bar and pushing it back together to compare it to the tectonic plates (thanks, wifey, for this comparison).
I know this is hard to say, but I hope you enjoy this little journey of mine. I'm in no ways any better at it right out of the gate, but it feels very productive. Hopefully, therell be a project that simply reminds me of that first step I took as a baby beginner def.
Updates might come soon, maybe even a new build. Thank you upfront.
